How it works

Three steps on each side, from post to connected.

For freelancers

  1. 1

    Buy tokens

Top up with a token pack that fits how often you apply. Tokens are valid for 12 months.

  2. 2

    Submit proposals

Spend tokens on serious proposals for jobs that match your skills. You always see the token cost before you confirm.

  3. 3

    Get connected

When a client approves your proposal, you both get each other’s contact details, so you can talk directly and take it forward. A chat opens as soon as you are shortlisted for an interview.

For clients

  1. 1

    List your requirement

Add your job in a few easy steps, or simply upload your job description document and we fill in the details for you. It goes live straight away for freelancers to see.

  2. 2

    Review proposals

Compare cover notes, rates and delivery times from interested freelancers, then shortlist the ones you like for an interview.

  3. 3

    Approve and connect

Approve your pick and you both get each other’s contact details straight away. Chat in WorkDaftar or reach out directly to agree the next steps.

Why WorkDaftar

Hiring that stays simple, and costs freelancers only what they use.

  • No commission

We do not take a cut of the work. Clients post for free, and freelancers pay only for the tokens they use to apply.

  • Talk before you decide

Shortlist a proposal for an interview and a chat opens. Approve one and you both get each other’s contact details.

  • Builds for bigger work

Apply once for a whole build. Cannot cover every part? Invite other freelancers to take the rest.

  • Post it your way

Use the short form, write your requirement as a message, or upload a PDF or Word brief and let us fill in the details.

FAQ

Questions people ask first

Cannot find your answer? Sign up and message our team from your dashboard.

How do I post a job?

Sign up as a client and choose New request. You can post it in one of three ways: fill in the short form, write your requirement as a message, or upload a PDF, Word or text brief. If you write or upload, we pick out the title, budget, deadline and skills for you. Check the details and post: your job goes live straight away.

Do you charge a commission?

No. Clients post for free, and freelancers pay only for the tokens they spend on proposals. You agree the price directly with the person you approve.

How do tokens work?

It depends on the job’s type and size: a gig costs 1–5 tokens, a contract 6–16 and a build 20–50, always shown before you apply (see Pricing). Taking a part of a build you are invited to costs nothing. Tokens are valid for 12 months and are not refunded once spent, so apply to jobs you are right for.

What is a build?

A build is a larger project split into parts. You apply once for the whole build, not part by part. If you cannot cover every part, invite other freelancers to take the rest; the client can approve once they have all accepted. Builds and contracts need a Plus or Pro pack, and Pro members get a 2-hour head start on new ones.

What is a contract?

A contract is a role for a set number of months, for example a developer for three months, remote, in office or hybrid, paid monthly. You apply, interview and get approved the same way as for a gig.

How is the price worked out for my country?

Token packs are priced in Indian rupees. We convert the price to your country’s currency at our published exchange rates and charge you in that currency. Choose your country at the top of the page.

What happens when my proposal is approved?

You and the client both get each other’s contact details, so you can talk directly and take it forward. Before that, if you are shortlisted for an interview, a chat opens between you and the client inside WorkDaftar.
