Terms of service

About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and WorkDaftar. By creating an account or using the WorkDaftar website you agree to them, and to our privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use WorkDaftar. Questions are welcome at contact@workdaftar.com.

Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement.
  • Give accurate details and keep them up to date. One person, one account.
  • Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us straight away if you think it has been misused.

What WorkDaftar does, and does not do

WorkDaftar is a marketplace. Clients post jobs (gigs, builds and contracts), freelancers send proposals, and clients choose who to work with. Jobs go live as soon as they are posted, and we remove listings that break these terms.

  • We are not a party to the work. The agreement for the work, including scope, price, timing and payment, is between the client and the freelancer.
  • We do not hold, process or guarantee payments for the work. Clients and freelancers pay each other directly. We suggest you confirm the details in writing before work starts.
  • We do not employ freelancers and do not supervise or guarantee their work, and we do not guarantee that a client will hire anyone.

Posting jobs

  • Posting is free. Describe the job honestly, including what it involves, the budget and the deadline or start date.
  • Only post lawful work that you genuinely intend to hire for. Do not put names, email addresses, phone numbers or links in a listing; contact details are shared when you approve a proposal.
  • We may edit, decline or remove a listing that breaks these terms or that we think is misleading, and we may close listings that pass their deadline or start date with nobody approved.

Proposals and tokens

  • Freelancers send proposals using tokens bought in one-time packs. Pack prices are set in Indian rupees and shown and charged in your local currency at our published rates.
  • The token cost is shown before you confirm a proposal. Tokens are spent when you apply, whatever the outcome.
  • Tokens are not refunded once spent, including when a proposal is not chosen, the client closes the job, or you withdraw. Unused tokens expire 12 months after purchase. Payment problems and unused packs are covered by our refund and cancellation policy.
  • Tokens have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and can only be used on WorkDaftar.
  • Each job accepts a limited number of proposals. Do not use more than one account to get around limits.

Interviews, approval and contact details

When a client shortlists a proposal for an interview, a chat opens on WorkDaftar. When a client approves a proposal, the client and the approved freelancer get each other's name, email address and phone number. Use these details only to discuss and carry out that job; do not add each other to marketing lists or share the details with anyone else.

Ratings and reviews

  • After a job, the client and the freelancer can rate each other once. Ratings must be honest and based on your own experience of that job.
  • A rating stays hidden until both sides have rated each other, or for 14 days.
  • Do not offer or ask for anything in return for a rating, and do not threaten a bad rating. We may remove ratings that are abusive, include personal information, or break these terms.

Things you must not do

  • Post or take on illegal, harmful or deceptive work, or impersonate anyone.
  • Harass, threaten or discriminate against other users.
  • Collect other users' data, scrape the site, or interfere with its security or normal running.
  • Upload malware, spam, or content you do not have the right to share.

Your content and the work

You keep ownership of what you post, such as listings, profiles, portfolios and messages. You allow us to store and display it as needed to run WorkDaftar. Who owns the finished work is for the client and the freelancer to agree between themselves; we recommend agreeing it in writing before work starts.

Our responsibility to you

We work to keep WorkDaftar available and accurate, but we provide it as it is and cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for the conduct of users, for the quality, safety or legality of work arranged through WorkDaftar, or for payments between clients and freelancers.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Suspending or closing an account

You can close your account at any time by writing to contact@workdaftar.com. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other users at risk. Tokens that have not been used are not refunded when an account is closed for breaking these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page and tell you by email or on the site if a change is significant. Using WorkDaftar after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
